About Crossy Road

Crossy Road is an endless isometric arcade game that challenges you to hop your way through an unforgiving gauntlet of busy highways, treacherous train tracks, and rushing rivers. You start as a lone pixelated chicken, but the goal remains the same no matter which character you unlock: get as far as you can without being squashed, drowned, or snatched away.

The pace is entirely dictated by you, making each run a tense balance between patience and speed. You can take your time to wait for the perfect gap in traffic, but dawdling for too long summons a bald eagle that will swoop down and end your game. Every successful forward hop earns you a point, turning each session into a high-stakes scramble to beat your personal best.

Controls

Movement is grid-based and responsive:

  • W / Up Arrow / Spacebar: Hop forward one space.
  • A / Left Arrow: Hop left.
  • D / Right Arrow: Hop right.
  • S / Down Arrow: Hop backward (useful for retreating from a fast-approaching vehicle).

Tips

  • Watch the traffic flow: Cars and trucks travel at different speeds depending on the lane. Look ahead to anticipate gaps rather than just reacting to the lane immediately in front of you.
  • Listen for the train: The railway crossings have flashing red lights and a ringing bell that sound just before a high-speed train blasts through. Never linger on the tracks.
  • Use logs wisely: When crossing rivers, jumping onto a floating log will carry you sideways. You can ride it to safely align with your next jump, but make sure to hop off before it floats off the screen.

Crossy Road is an excellent pick-up-and-play title for anyone who loves chasing high scores in quick, action-packed bursts.
