Run 3 Editor takes the gravity-shifting platforming of the original game and hands the design tools over to the player. Instead of just surviving the endless void of space, you are in charge of building the tunnels. You can construct intricate pathways, place missing tiles to create perilous jumps, and immediately drop your alien runner in to test if the course is possible.
The core gameplay remains exactly the same when testing a level. The camera rotates as you move along the walls, turning vertical drops into flat ground. The editor interface lets you toggle smoothly between building and playing, making it easy to tweak a jump that feels slightly too wide or add a few more obstacles to a section that is too simple.
Controls
- Arrow Keys / WASD: Move left, right, and jump while playing.
- Spacebar: Jump.
- Mouse: Select, place, and delete tiles in the level editor.
Tips
- Test constantly: Jump into play mode frequently to make sure the gaps you built are actually clearable.
- Use camera rotation: A straight gap might be impossible, but placing tiles on the adjacent walls gives the player a way around it.
- Start simple: Build a basic straight tunnel first to get used to the editor interface before adding complex twists and hazards.
This sandbox mode is perfect for anyone who wants to understand how the original levels were designed or just wants to challenge themselves with impossibly difficult custom tracks.
