4th and Goal 2022 puts you in the huddle as quarterback, calling the play, snapping the ball, and reading the defense before the play breaks down. It's an arcade take on football rather than a simulation — matches move fast, downs come one after another, and the fun is in picking the right play and then making something happen with it.

You alternate between offense and defense as the game runs through downs toward the end zone, with a Championship game, a Playoff Tournament, and a run at the Super Bowl to work through as modes. Momentum swings quickly: a good read on defense or a broken tackle on offense can flip a drive in a couple of plays.

Controls

Arrow keys move your player. A, S or D calls a pass or a play depending on the situation. W triggers a speed boost. Spacebar snaps the ball to start the play. The mouse handles menu navigation between downs.

Tips

• Snap the ball with Spacebar as soon as your play is set — hesitating gives the defense time to read your formation.
• Mix passing and running plays rather than repeating whichever just worked; defenses in this series adjust to a pattern.
• Save the W boost for the moment you've already spotted a running lane rather than using it on every down.
