War of Sticks is a tower-defense strategy game about breaking your stick-figure people free from the oppressing Red Empire. You start with almost nothing and build up an economy and an army entirely by clicking through a purchase menu, one unit at a time.
The loop runs in a clear order: train miners first to bring in gold and the stone needed for construction, then spend that income on fighters — shielders to hold the front line, archers and barbarians to do the damage, and wizards once you can afford them. Stone goes toward defense towers to back up your line. Everything, units and buildings alike, can be upgraded again once you're earning enough to reinvest, so a session is really about managing that economy well enough to out-produce the enemy before they overrun you.
Controls
Mouse or finger only — the purchase buttons sit in the upper-left corner of the screen, and clicking or tapping them is the entire interface. It works the same way on desktop and mobile.
Tips
- Prioritize a few miners before your first fighters — an early gold shortage is harder to recover from than a slightly late army.
- Keep shielders in front of archers and wizards so your ranged units aren't the first thing hit.
- Upgrade existing units before buying more of the cheapest kind once your economy is stable — a stronger front line holds longer than a wider one.
