Mad Day is a side-scrolling driving-and-shooting game about a road trip gone very wrong: aliens have snatched your pet octopus, Fluffy, and the only way to get him back is to punch a war truck through wave after wave of extraterrestrial invaders. The truck rolls forward on its own, so the whole game comes down to timing your shots and jumps as the road fills up with enemies and obstacles.

Between runs you spend what you've earned on upgrades — a stronger gun and a faster reloader, plus hats that hand out small special boosts — so each later attempt pushes further than the last. It's a short, arcade-style loop: drive, shoot, jump, upgrade, try again.
