Cold Storage drops you into a giant's walk-in freezer as a small yeti trying to climb out before you end up as a snack yourself. Every room is a vertical shaft lined with hanging metal poles, and the only way up is to swing from one to the next, timing each launch so you catch the next bar instead of dropping back down into the cold.
The climb is built around a single trick: which way you're facing when you jump off a pole decides whether you go up or down. Face upward and jump to gain height, face the way to drop back toward the pole below. It sounds simple until the gaps get longer and the room punishes hesitation, so a run through Cold Storage is really a string of quick, precise swings rather than a race against a clock.
Controls
- WASD or the arrow keys — move and grab onto poles
- Jump while facing up to climb higher on the current pole
- Jump while facing down to drop back toward the pole below
Tips
- Check which way your yeti is facing before you jump — that direction decides up or down, not the key you press.
- Go for the next pole the moment it's in range instead of waiting; hesitating mid-swing is what causes most falls.
- Snack dudes scattered through each room are optional pickups — grab the ones on your path rather than detouring for them.
It's a short-session game built for a handful of quick climbs rather than one long sitting, and it runs straight in the browser with nothing to install.
