Word City Crossed Game

Word City Crossed drops a grid of scattered letters over a postcard view of a real city and asks you to find every word hiding in it. Drag across connected letters to spell something, and if it is a real word the tiles lock into place and add to your score. Clear a city's list of hidden words and the game packs its bags for the next stop on the map.

It plays fast and loose rather than strict crossword-style — there is no timer pressuring every move, so the pace comes from how quickly you can spot combinations in the letter cluster. Coins earned from solved puzzles buy hints and power-ups for the moments a word just will not show itself, which keeps a hard cluster from turning into a dead stop.

Controls

Click a letter to start a line, then drag over the letters to trace out a word. Release to submit it. The same click-and-drag works with touch on mobile.

Tips

• Scan for short words first (three and four letters) — they clear tiles and open up longer words hiding underneath.
• Save coin-bought hints for a city's last one or two words rather than spending them early.
• Letters can be reused across different words in the same puzzle, so don't treat a tile as "used up" after one word.
