Tap Tricks, from Gesinimo Games, strips skateboarding down to a single input: hold to charge a trick, let go at the right instant, and watch your skater launch off the lip of whatever you're standing on. There's no run-up, no directional stick, no second button for grabs or flips — every jump, grind and landing in the game runs through that one hold-and-release timing.
That simplicity is the whole hook. Chain a clean release into a rail grind before you land and your combo meter keeps climbing instead of resetting, so a good run is really a string of well-timed releases back to back rather than one big trick. The game started life as a prize winner at the Very Big Indie Pitch for its one-touch concept, and that idea is still exactly what's on screen — a skate park built to be messed around in, one hold-and-release at a time.
Controls
Hold to charge a jump, release at the right moment to trigger the trick. On desktop that's a held mouse click or key; on phones and tablets, press and hold anywhere on the screen.
Tips
- Release early for a small, safe hop and late for bigger air — release too late and you'll land off-balance and break your combo.
- Aim your release to land on a rail rather than flat ground when you can; grinding keeps the combo meter alive longer than landing between tricks does.
- New skateboards and skins unlock as you play, and some are available for watching a short reward ad instead of grinding one out.
