Rummy is the classic card game of matching and sequencing, built by Codethislab and played here against computer opponents rather than a table of real people. Deal in, look at your hand, and start hunting for the combinations you need to empty it before anyone else does.
Each turn comes down to one decision: take the top card off the face-down stock, or grab the known card sitting in the waste pile. Once you draw, you can lay down any complete melds you're holding — three or four of a kind, or a run of consecutive cards in one suit — before discarding to end your turn. There's a catch that keeps early turns tense: you can't place your first meld until the cards in it add up to a minimum point value, so a hand full of low cards may have to wait a round or two before it can open at all. Go out in a single turn without ever having opened before, and your score for that round doubles.
Controls
Everything is mouse or touch. Click and drag a card to move it — pull one from your hand onto the table to start or extend a meld, or drop it on the waste pile to discard and pass the turn.
Tips
- Watch the waste pile before you draw from it — taking that card tells your opponent exactly what you're building, since it's face-up and was just discarded.
- Hold cards that could complete more than one combination for as long as your hand size allows; flexibility matters more than banking an early meld.
- Don't discard a card you picked up from the waste pile — the game won't let you play it straight back out, so plan two turns ahead when you draw from there.
It's a quiet, turn-based game that suits anyone who likes counting outs and holding a hand together rather than fast reflexes — pick a round when you've got a few quiet minutes to actually think through your combinations.
