About Getaway Shootout - Play Online for Free! | Poki

Getaway Shootout drops you and up to three characters onto a shrinking strip of ground with one goal: be the first to reach the helicopter waiting at the far edge. There's no running button and no traditional movement at all — every step is a jump, so covering ground means timing hops while your rivals shove, punch, and shoot you off the platform.

The wobbly, out-of-control physics are the whole joke. A held jump goes further than a tapped one, landings can send you tumbling, and grabbing a weapon crate mid-race turns a footrace into a brawl. Rounds are short, chaotic, and easy to restart, which makes it a good pick for a quick head-to-head with someone sitting next to you.

Controls

Player 1: W to jump left, E to jump right, R to use a picked-up power-up.

Player 2: I to jump left, O to jump right, P to use a picked-up power-up.

Tips

  • Holding the jump key longer sends you further — short taps are for fine positioning near the edge, not for covering distance.
  • Grab weapon pickups (sniper rifles, shotguns, bombs) when they're on your path; knocking an opponent into the water costs them several seconds of respawn time.
  • Landing on top of another character can bump them off balance, so aiming your jump at a rival instead of open ground is often faster than racing past them.
  • Coins earned from races unlock new characters — there's no gameplay advantage to them, just cosmetic variety.

It plays best as a local two-player game on one keyboard, but works solo against computer-controlled opponents too. Nothing to install — it runs straight in the browser.
