Friday Night Funkin B-Sides Game

Friday Night Funkin': B-Sides takes every song from the original game and rebuilds it from the ground up. Boyfriend still faces off against Girlfriend's father and the rest of the cast one week at a time, but the instrumentals, chord progressions, and note charts are new — the songs you know from Week 1 through Week 7 arrive sounding, and playing, like different tracks entirely.

The rhythm loop itself hasn't changed: notes scroll up toward a strike line, and you hit the matching key the instant each one lands. What's different is the pacing. Because the remixes lean into new tempos and syncopation instead of just piling on more notes, familiar songs can catch you off guard in ways the originals never did — a slow build in the original might turn into a rapid-fire section here, or vice versa.

Tips

• Play a remix on Easy or Normal first — the charts follow the new instrumental, not the original song, so muscle memory from the base game won't carry over cleanly.
• Keep your eyes fixed on the strike line rather than tracking notes as they spawn; the new charts reward reading the line, not the incoming pattern.
• If a section keeps tripping you up, replay just that song a few times before moving on — the mod doesn't require clearing songs in order.

B-Sides is a mod for people who already know Friday Night Funkin' and want the same weeks and characters to feel unfamiliar again. It's built by the mod team Rozebud, JADS, and Cval — Rozebud leading the remix direction, JADS on music and charting, and Cval on the updated art — and it plays best in short sessions, one or two remixed songs at a time.
