Duck Life 3: Evolution is a training sim wrapped around a racing game. You start with one scrawny duckling and build it into a champion racer by drilling four separate skills before every race, not by playing the race itself well.
Each session splits into two halves: training and competing. In training you pick a discipline — running, flying, swimming or climbing — and play a short minigame that raises that stat and hands you coins. Spend the coins on duck feed to keep your bird's energy up between sessions, then enter a race in one of three leagues, set on the farm, in London and on Easter Island. Win enough races in a league and your duck evolves into a new, more capable form before the next one opens.
Controls
- Running: Up arrow to jump over hurdles.
- Flying: Up and down arrows to change your flight path around obstacles.
- Swimming: Up arrow to jump, down arrow to dive, left and right arrows to move.
- Climbing: Left and right arrows to hop between the canyon walls as you ascend.
Tips
- Don't dump every coin into one skill — races test different disciplines, so a duck that can only run will stall out once a swimming or climbing leg shows up.
- Buy feed before you're actually low on energy; running out mid-training wastes the session.
- Replay a training minigame a few extra times before a league final if one stat is lagging behind the others — it's cheaper than losing the race.
It suits players who like a bit of management alongside their arcade reflexes: short, simple minigames in service of a longer progression arc rather than one continuous race.
