Cats Love Cake Game

Cats Love Cake is a bounce-and-dodge platformer: your cat springs forward on its own, and your only job is timing each jump so it lands past the spikes and pits instead of in them. Desserts are scattered through each level as the thing you're chasing, but really the game is about reading a stage's rhythm and reacting a beat ahead of it.

Fail a level enough times and the game shows you the exact path through it, which keeps the difficulty from turning into pure frustration — you're never stuck without a way forward. Clearing levels also unlocks new animals to bounce with, giving you a reason to keep going past the level you're currently stuck on.

Controls

Use the arrow keys to steer the bounce left, right, up or down as your cat springs through the air. On phone and tablet the same movement is mapped to on-screen touch controls.

Tips

• Watch one obstacle ahead rather than the one you're about to hit — the bounce carries you further than it looks, so late reactions come too late.
• If you fail the same section three or four times, let the hint route show you the timing instead of guessing again.
• Keep unlocking new animals as you clear levels — it's a steady incentive to push past a stage you've already beaten a dozen times.
