About Sharkio

Shark.io drops you into a top-down ocean arena full of players, all doing the same thing: growing. You start as one shark among many, chasing down swimmers and smaller rivals while staying clear of anything bigger than you. Every match is the same tense trade-off between hunting for size and not becoming someone else's meal.

The twist that separates it from typical grow-and-eat .io games is the horn. You don't just bump into things to eat them — you pick a horn design at the start and use it to actually gore opponents, and as you grow you can transform into sea creatures (and a few land-dwelling ones) instead of just scaling up the same shark model. A short dash, fuelled by boost you collect from white pickups in the water, is what turns a losing chase into a kill or a near-miss into an escape.

Controls

  • WASD, Arrow Keys, or Mouse: steer your shark
  • Spacebar or Left Click: dash forward, using up your boost meter

Tips

  • Collect the white boost objects even when you're not being chased — an empty boost bar means no dash when a bigger shark shows up.
  • Stars raise your score without adding risk, so sweep them up between hunts rather than only chasing players.
  • Lead with your horn, not your body — ramming an enemy head-on with the horn is what actually takes them down, a glancing hit does nothing.

It's a quick-session game: no accounts, no long-term progression, just repeated runs at climbing the size ladder before something bigger ends yours.

Sharkio FAQ

How do I attack other sharks in Shark.io?
Ram into an opponent with your horn — a head-on hit takes them down, while just bumping into them without the horn leading does nothing.
How does the dash work?
Press Spacebar or click the left mouse button to dash forward. It costs boost meter, which you refill by collecting the white pickups scattered in the water.
Do I need to create an account to play?
No, Shark.io runs directly in the browser with no download or account required — you can jump into a match immediately.
Can I change what my shark looks like?
Yes, as you grow you can transform into different sea creatures instead of just scaling up the same shark model.
