About Orbital Survival

Orbital Survival drops you on a tiny moon with nothing but a robot arm and a gun, and lets waves of UFOs and blob-like enemies close in from every side. There's no free-roaming here: your ship rolls around the curved surface of the planet, so "forward" always means around the horizon rather than in a straight line.

The twist is the bullets. Fire across the moon's surface and a shot that misses keeps travelling around the curve — which means a careless shot can loop all the way back and hit you from behind. Between that and the escalating waves of enemies, sessions stay short, tense, and easy to restart the moment your health bar runs out.

Controls

WASD or the arrow keys roll you around the planet, and Space or M fires your gun. On touch devices, a virtual stick handles movement and tapping fires.

Tips

  • Don't fire blind across the horizon — track where your own shot will end up before you let it loop back around.
  • Keep rolling instead of holding still. UFOs and blobs close in from multiple sides, and standing in one spot lets them box you in.
  • Grab heal pickups the moment they spawn; your health bar doesn't regenerate on its own.

Orbital Survival started life as the grand-prize winner of PlayCanvas's 2016 PLAYHACK game jam, built by developer el-pepi around the jam's "rockets, robots, UFOs" theme — it's a good pick for anyone who wants a five-minute arcade shooter with a genuinely different movement gimmick.
